c4u launches first two modules for qualification of Bolivian IT specialists
Blended learning courses for Java programmers have been started
The importance of Information and Communication Technologies for both the state and the private sector is constantly
growing. However, in developing countries like Bolivia, there are often not enough local IT specialists available.
In order to collaborate in overcoming the "digital divide" - the digital gap between poor and rich countries -
community4you GmbH carries out an ambitious two-year learning project in cooperation with the Universidad Mayor de San
Andrés (UMSA) in La Paz, Bolivia, the Universidad Católica Boliviana San Pablo (UCB) and various Bolivian companies.
This project fosters the formation and advanced training of IT specialists via a comprehensive qualification measure
regarding Java programming in the form of blended learning courses. In order to achieve this, community4you employs its
comprehensive Learning Management System
comm.lms.
Now, the first two of eight modules have already started. In this first phase, the course is divided between theory
lessons and practical parts. The participants are provided with theoretical knowledge which can then be applied in exercises so
that they are able to broaden their understanding and practice their skills.
The demand for the Java courses was overwhelming. Professors, students and programmers from well-known companies were
keen to participate in the blended learning courses. Due to this huge demand, community4you thinks about a second Java course
already.
In any case, the next two modules are going to be taught in La Paz at the beginning of September.
