Architecture
open-EIS is based on a modern, multi-level, service-oriented architecture. Herewith, flexible adaptability and independence from the underlying operating system are guaranteed. open-EIS applications can be accessed over a web browser either in connected or disconnected (offline client) mode. Encrypted connections can be established via LAN, intranet and internet and are available for both client models. Flexible customization and operating system independence are as well supported in both scenarios.
The enterprise architecture with component-based SOA support constitutes the fundament of the open-EIS application model. Single, functionally separated application modules (services as well as external functionalities of distributed software and third party systems) can be combined into an individual and personalized solution for the efficient configuration of state-of-the-art IT applications.
SOA is a decentralized and service-driven architecture model, which can be utilized throughout the entire company thanks to
its support for standard and open technological specifications and protocols. In doing so, functions can be integrated and
reused in form of reusable, technically independent and functionally loosely linked services. The services are accessed via
standardized interfaces, detached from their underlying implementations. The service interaction takes place by means of a
specifically designated communication infrastructure.
