In the project "simKMU - Development of cross-company, process-integrated and web-based simulation services and business models for SMEs" community4you was technical partner of the subproject: Arbeitsfeld II - Geschäftsprozesse und Verfahrenabläufe der Druckerei Süd Bauch GmbH & Co. KG, the result of which is the “simulation.navigator”. The software is based on the open-EIS integration platform, a complete modular and component-based integration solution for distributed enterprise scenarios with strong SOA support.
Challenge
Business process optimization is the improvement of the processes and the quality of a company. It also includes increasing the efficiency of processes by systematically finding and eliminating weak points in their respective contexts. Business process optimization is intended to simplify and standardize workflows and procedures and so reduce their complexity.
Solution
The result of the "simKMU" project was the “simulation.navigator”, an open-EIS based software for the simulation and optimization of business processes that was implemented as a Web 2.0 application. Essential features of this tool are role- and user-based simulation of business processes, the testing of real business processes in business practice, the dynamic analysis and optimization of business processes with the highest possible representation of reality as well as the visualization of the effects when playing through different scenarios.
