On the 100th Anniversary of His Birth: The City of Chemnitz and Business Leaders Pay Tribute to the Late Prof. Dr. Carl H. Hahn

Carl H. Hahn would have turned 100 in 2026. For this reason, the city of Chemnitz, along with representatives from the cultural and business communities, would like to honor the memory of the former VW CEO, who was born here. From July 2, 2026, to July 16, 2026, numerous events will take place in Chemnitz, in which the Chemnitz-based software company community4you AG will also participate. With the sponsor’s support, for example, a Carl H. Hahn Garden has been created in Chemnitz’s City Park.
The company has always had close ties to Carl Hahn: The Chemnitz-based software manufacturers headquarters is located in Villa Hahn—the house where Carl Hahn spent his childhood.
Uwe Bauch, CEO of community4you AG, explains: “Our goal is to pay fitting tribute to Carl Hahn’s extraordinary achievements. It is remarkable what an impact Hahn had on Saxony and on his hometown of Chemnitz. It is thanks to him that VW saved the Saxon automotive industry from collapse after German reunification. More than 50,000 jobs depend on this today—a legacy we must fight to preserve.”
